Impervious Surface  Area Analysis

Pierce County Elementary Schools

Pierce County is home to 135 public Elementary schools, each located within one of the county's 16 school districts. This analysis was performed to determine the impervious surface coverage assocated with each school and its desgniated 'Feeder Area'. The analysis concluded that schools within highly urbanized areas were more commonly associated with higher levels of impervious surfaces, while rural non-urban schools tended to have lower levels of impervious coverage.
